Archbishop’s Visit to LCT

On the 20 November, 2016,  After celebrating Christ the King at the Cathedral of the Praying Hands, the Lahore College of Theology had the privilege of hosting the Archbishop of Canterbury, His Grace, Justin Welby. On his recent visit to Pakistan, the Archbishop was accompanied by his wife, Mrs Caroline Welby. With them as part of a delegation came Canon David Potter, Dr Sarah Snyder and Rev Rana Youab . The Archbishop’s genuine interest and love for young people was evident as was his concern that young people be forward looking and their formation be relevant in an postmodern, uncertain, economically unstable and politically changing world. At the Lahore College of Theology, students, faculty and board members, are thankful for the opportunity to share our hearts, our passion and our convictions with the Archbishop of Canterbury who in turn reminded us not to be inward but to remain conscious and compassionate about the world outside of our church reality. He also spoke about holding onto Christ as our certainty whose love is needed in this broken world. These pictures are tender reminders of the Archbishop’s interest in reaching out, listening and speaking ministerially to students, teachers and Church leadership alike.
